Meet Our Team

Dr. Joyce Li
Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Li brings both heart and skill to every patient she treats. With over 15 years of veterinary experience, she combines expertise with genuine compassion in every exam and procedure. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Rice University and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M, she discovered her passion for soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and feline internal medicine—basically, all the things that help pets live their happiest, healthiest lives.
When she’s not in surgery or caring for her furry patients, you’ll find Dr. Li rock climbing, crocheting, exploring new restaurants, or hanging out with her husband, son, and two cats. She even spent over 10 years performing aerial arts (yes, even while pregnant!)—talk about balance!
Dr. Li chose PawDoc because it gives her the perfect blend of work-life balance and the opportunity to focus on what she loves most: helping pets feel their best through expert surgical care.
Our Katy team combines skill, compassion, and a whole lot of love for pets. From the moment you walk in, you’ll be greeted by people who care for your pet like family—because that’s exactly what they are to us.

Veterinary AssistantGreat Care Shouldn’t Break the Bank
At PawDoc, we believe peace of mind shouldn’t come with a surprise price tag. That’s why we list all of our pricing right on our website — no hidden fees, no guesswork. Our goal is to keep care transparent, affordable, and easy to understand, so you can focus on your pet, not the bill.
When you book, our Virtual Care Specialist will confirm your procedure, walk through the costs in detail, and discuss financial options like healthcare credit cards or pet insurance. That way, you’ll feel fully prepared ahead of time and confident in the care your pet will receive.

Our Service List + Prices
All listed prices reflect standard procedures and are provided to ensure transparency and peace of mind. In the event of complications, additional findings, or unexpected needs during your pet’s procedure, you will be immediately contacted. Prices may be subject to change, but this will be discussed with you directly to ensure transparency.
All procedures include a complimentary nail trim. When indicated, your pet will also receive an IV catheter, IV fluids, pain medication, and a protective cone collar—all included in the procedure cost. For added comfort, optional surgical suits or soft e-collars are available for $40.
For pets that experience stress or anxiety, mild sedatives may be recommended before and after their visit. The cost is $20 for a three-day supply. Please discuss this with our Virtual Care Specialist when booking your appointment.
Please note that large dogs over 90 lbs are an additional fee – $400
Consultations
$60
We may recommend a pre-procedure consultation if we do not have your pet’s medical records, if records are incomplete, or if recent bloodwork/diagnostics have not been performed. This appointment will be scheduled in the afternoon which allows our team to perform a thorough assessment and to obtain bloodwork and diagnostics before the procedure.
Pre-Anesthetic Lab Work
$100
For your pet’s safety and well-being, pre-anesthetic lab work is required prior to any surgical or dental procedure. If recent results are not available from your primary veterinarian, our team can perform the necessary testing for an additional cost (see pricing above). These tests help ensure that your pet can safely undergo anesthesia and help direct our medical protocols and treatment plan.
Procedure Glossary
We know veterinary terms can sound a little technical, and we want you to feel informed every step of the way. Visit our Procedure Glossary page for clear, easy-to-understand explanations of what each surgery or treatment means for your pet.
Dental Services
Just like people, pets need regular dental care to stay healthy and comfortable. Without proper cleanings, plaque and bacteria can lead to painful gum disease, tooth loss, and infections. We will provide before-and-after photos so you can see just how bright those pearly white’s shine!
Why Anesthesia? Pets need anesthesia during dental cleanings to keep them still, pain-free, and safe—allowing veterinarians to thoroughly clean below the gumline, take x-rays, and treat dental disease without stress or discomfort.
